Maine Boatbuilders Show at Portland

The 3-day boatbuilders show in Portland, Maine drew crowds in spite of and maybe because of the weather on the third weekend in March. Boat owners and enthusiasts, anticipating the possibility of spring weather that will enable the launch of or purchase of a boat, wove their way through the options at the show. Those who didn’t leave with a boat would have found plenty of the stuff boats always seem to need. The show is unique in its range of vendors – small wooden skiffs and big wooden sailboats, fiberglass power boats and yachts, fishing boats, tool and engine dealers, antique tools, navigation charts, aluminum boats, maritime books, maritime crafts, videos, marine suppliers and of course, surf boards.
