Galen Alley was killed in a single vehicle accident in Jonesport, Maine on January 19, 2019.

Alley, who was returning from dragging that day, was traveling south on the Indian River Road just north of Jonesport center, when his vehicle left the road and rolled over several times. It was reported that his vehicle was navigating a curve in the road and that conditions in that area were icy at the time of the accident.

Alley was a fisherman, lobster dealer and known to many for his success in building and racing winning lobster boats.
