Dieticians and Scientists Tout Benefits of Wild Salmon Over Farmed

In a survey of nutrition professionals published by Time Magazine this week, unanimous support emerged for consumption of wild caught salmon. A panel of five scientists and dieticians agreed that wild salmon is rich in Omega 3 fatty acids, a healthful essential nutrient with benefits for circulatory and brain health, as well as high in proteins and low in fats.

The panel likewise pointed out that the nutritional benefits of farmed salmon are often a fraction of those of wild salmon, and that beneficial sustainability practices means what family fishermen have known for years: that supporting the wild salmon fishery is good for the earth and family fishery workers.
