Reidar’s Manufacturing has their new 24,000 square foot shop and 3 acre site in full operation. After outgrowing their Fairhaven waterfront shop of 28 years the demand for much more manufacturing space was obvious. To get that space they went 4 miles north of the New Bedford waterfront off Route 140 at exit 5. The large new two story building is surrounded by space for laying out projects.

Reidar Bendiksen said they are able to be much more efficient in their new operation and complete jobs in less time. There is a large net making shop, a much larger welding shop, a trawl and scallop gear shop, supply storage and offices on the ground level. Most of the second floor is a net cutting loft and more offices.

Thor Bendiksen said they are prepared to build custom scallop dredges for the entire New England coast. Reidar’s is a one stop fishing gear shop with the experience to calculate and recommend doors, trawls, groundcables, etc., for a new or existing boat.
