Fishing Vessel: “Polly & Ruth”

Hi Mike,

My boat has a new owner, so thanks for running my ad #C10 several times.

One of the fishermen who wanted the “Polly & Ruth” was a gill-netter from Pekin, Illinois. He wanted the boat so that he could carry at least 10,000 lbs. a day of those Asian Carp. They are fishing for them in a wider section of the Illinois River, and getting paid nine (9¢) cents per pound.

His partner backed out of the expense of putting in a new cat engine and sharing the cost of trucking. They live about 20 miles from Peoria, Illinois – Caterpillar home turf.

They might be able to give you lots of information about the Asian Carp problem.

Thanks again.

Sincerely,
Stuart B. Vorpahl
