Maritime Textbook Translated
into Japanese

Nor’easter Press of Eastport, Maine, announces that its textbook Shipboard Bridge Resource Management by Captain Michael R. Adams has been translated into Japanese and published by Seizando-Shoten Publishing Co. of Tokyo, Japan. The Japanese-language edition was translated by Captain Akira Hirosawa and was released in Japan in February 2011. Seizando-Shoten is a technical publisher specializing in the topical areas maritime, marine, aviation, railway, and weather.

First published in the United States in September 2006 with a revised printing in September 2010, Shipboard Bridge Resource Management has been adopted for use in bridge resource management (BUM) coursework by maritime academies and training schools and for use in BRM refresher training by fleets. The book was reviewed in the March 2007 issue of Fishermen’s Voice and is useful reading for operators of fishing boats.

The English-language and Japanese-language editions are available direct from the respective publishers, through professional maritime bookstores, and through online booksellers.
